Position Details
Full-time personnel may be assigned to a 24-hour shift schedule, with scheduled workweeks generally ranging from 48 to 72 hours per week, depending on position, assignment, and department needs.
Full-time positions may include:

- Planned overtime opportunities

- Training, station, equipment, and community service responsibilities
Compensation
Compensation varies by position, qualifications, assignment, and applicable pay schedule. Full-time schedules may include regular or planned overtime opportunities, which may increase annual earnings.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications
Minimum and preferred qualifications vary by position. Specific requirements will be listed in each recruitment announcement when a position becomes available.
Qualifications may include, but are not limited to:
- Firefighter certifications
- EMS licensure or certification
- Driver/operator qualifications
- Fire service experience
- Leadership or supervisory experience, depending on rank
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to meet department medical, physical, and background requirements
Duties and Assignments
Duties vary by position and assignment. Full-time personnel may be responsible for emergency response, station operations, training, equipment readiness, documentation, public education, and other department functions.
Typical duties may include:
- Responding to medical, fire, rescue, and mutual aid incidents
- Participating in training, drills, and daily station activities
- Maintaining apparatus, equipment readiness, and station operations
- Completing incident reports and department documentation
- Supporting fire prevention, public education, and community outreach activities
- Assisting with emergency preparedness and special assignments
- Participating in strike team and mutual aid assignments, as assigned
- Performing leadership, supervisory, or officer-level duties when required by position or assignment
Benefits
The current benefits package includes health insurance. Employees may choose either:
- 80% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and family; or
- A stipend payment option.
